SHF

The proper pairing of a sugary confection with a good wine is a difficult thing to maneuver. I have seen it done a few times in restaurants, once or twice at dinner parties and maybe done it once myself - and I almost certainly managed it by accident. Do you go sweeter with the wine than the dessert or match it? Do you go red or white or ice?

The theme for January 2010's SHF event is Sweet Comforts: Desserts you Turn to for Comfort.

Sugar High Fridays, the crazy-popular and long-running event, is taking a trip through dessert history! For the March 2009 incarnation of SHF your challenge is to make a dessert that is over a century old. Heirloom recipe, forgotten oddity, or new reinterpretation of an old classic - as long as it's 100+ years old, the rest is up to you!

I am delighted and proud to be the host of the 50th edition of Sugar High Fridays , the wonderful blog event created by Jennifer of The Domestic Goddess, which celebrates sweets in all their glorious variety. SHF #46 : Meringue

This month I decided to do meringue. I for one, dont make it enough. For me its either a success or a disaster, so good luck! August is a good month for this light airy creation so make it yours!!

July is the most berry-licous month. So for this month's Sugar High Friday, it's all about berries. Submit a dessert featuring berries to Food Blogga by Sunday August 3rd.

Lemons, lime, oranges, tangerines, clementines, mandarines, grapefruits, kumquats,...you name it, I dig it. The bright colors of the fruits and the desserts they are prepared with cannot but make you happy and ready for summer. Let's get all zesty and let's pucker up with citrus in May!
