Cook the Books Foodie Book Club: Now Reading The Last Chinese Chef by Nicole Mones
Every two months, participants in the Cook the Books Club read the same book and then cook up something tasty inspired by our reading. We blog about it and post a roundup of creative recipes and blog posts. So far, we have read Lily Prior's "La Cucina", Diana Abu-Jaber's "The Language of Baklava", Tony Bourdain's "Kitchen Confidential", and Elizabeth Goudge's children's fantasy "The Little White Horse".
Our book selection this time is author Nicole Mones' novel "The Last Chinese Chef". This book touches on classical Chinese cooking and modern Chinese history, with a soupcon of romance. Anyone can join in the fun by buying or borrowing a copy of the book, reading it and then cooking up something inspired by your reading by Friday, August 28th, midnight.
You don't have to do anything special to join our group other than read the book and blog about it, so feel free to join us. Check out the Cook the Books blog (http://cookthebooksclub.wordpress.com/) to see our past roundups.
