What is my blog about? Gosh, well, how can I put this simply? I take a perverse interest in, and get a great deal of enjoyment out of food. Cooking, eating, the politics of food and where it comes from, traditions, memories, festivities and how food plays a part in these.

I'm currently residing in Switzerland with my other half and writing (for freelance, as well as for fun), but will soon be returning to the UK to undertake a 12-week course at Ballymaloe Cookery School, in Ireland.

I plan to jot down my Ballymaloe transition from 'kitchen-potterer and sometime cake-baker to would-be chef' on a regular basis, so come April (when my course ends), my blog should be looking a great deal more interesting!
