Is My Blog Burning? - Say it With Gusto!

It's finally here - the new version of Is My Blog Burning! Something I have been wanting, wishing and feeling the obligation to do for at least a couple of years is now ready to be presented to everyone.

The main purpose of this website has and will always be that of providing a central place where people can post event announcements and where you can (now) easily figure out what events are coming up. With the amount of events going on some planning is required for the dedicated food blogger so a clear understanding of what, when, where and how can be a great help!

In addition, I have always wanted Is My Blog Burning to also be a place where one could discover new food blogs and find out what interesting food-related stories there are out there.

This need has been even more evident for me in the past two years. With an amazing little baby girl (18 months old now) to take care of amongst us and a lovely crumbling house in Sicily to restore and everything else life brings one's way there was little time to really keep up with everything that is going on the foodie sphere.

While I do have more time available now food blogs have increased as well and I am sure others are in a similar position where some help sorting through everything going would be appreciated. My hope is that this site is going to help with that and will help all of us discover something new and interesting everyday.

Sign up to the website and post a profile of you blog - the options are limited right now but we will flesh things out as we going along. If you have any suggestions about what should go in a profile please let me know.

Say it with Gusto - Foodie Links!

In web techno-babble: Social bookmarking with votes. In practical terms:You can submit your favourite food stories for others to discover. Preferably not just what you post on your own blog but anything you think may be interesting to foodies from anywhere on the web. Others (and you) can then vote on the stories hopefully getting the best stories to the top. This is something that many websites allow you to do (Digg, Reddit, etc) but the idea here is to have something just for the foodie community.

I guess this is enough of announcements. I will post more soon but I am also eager to get as many people involved as possible so if you have any ideas please get in touch.
