Recipe for Action - Placemats for Kids in Children's Hospitals
We all know that cooking for and eating with others helps to build community. But what if someone is sick and we can't share a meal with them? The next best thing is to create and share something else with them to make them feel better.
My kids and I are decorating placemats for the kids who are at our local Children's Hospital. They have messages like: Get Well, Feel Better Soon and Happy Birthday, along with decorations. My kids say their names and ages on there, somewhere, too, so the recipients know who is sending the good wishes.
If you want to participate, I have more details on my blog:

It's a great way for kids of all ages to help other kids - in a fun and simple way. I hope you will help me spread the word. I'd love to include some of the stories and images of people's finished work in the book that I am working on :-)
